About us

 

We have been providing evidence-based activity programmes in Devon and Somerset, since 2017.

Grounded in therapeutic principles, our sessions improve the emotional and physical wellbeing of children, young people and adults who lead challenging and complex lives.

Inspiration

Rob Emery, our Founder and Chief Executive, was inspired to set up the charity while working at a children’s hospice and witnessing first-hand the transformative impact that outdoor and adventurous activities can have on children with a life-limiting illness; and their whole family. This was galvanised through the tragic circumstances of a friend’s child who, following diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, continued to hike for as long as he was able, before using an all-terrain wheelchair to continue his adventures as his prognosis deteriorated.

Our team

Our team includes staff, volunteers, registered activity instructors and professional associates. Collectively we work together to improve, transform and for some, save lives. We support approximately 200 people each year, from 8 years old; we have no upper age limit.
