Our charity shop in Ilfracombe sells a wide range of preloved clothing, children’s toys and games, bric-a-brac, books and more. 100% of the profit from our charity shop helps to transform the lives of people who lead challenging and complex lives in the local community.
We’re very grateful to have a team of friendly and supportive volunteers who assist our Retail Coordinator in our shop, to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Our shop is located in the Artisan street of Fore Street, which winds its way down to the Harbour.

“Your preloved and vintage clothes, toys and games, bric-a-brac and books could be just what someone else is looking for. At the same time, your donations of stock for our shop will raise vital funds to support children, young people and adults who lead complex lives. And if we can’t sell your items for any reason, we can often raise money through textile recycling.”

Gift Aid
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a scheme run by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) that means charities like Adventure Therapy can reclaim the tax on your donations at no extra cost to you.
This means all your donations will be worth 25% more than they sell for. So if your donations sell for £10.00, we will actually receive £12.50.
Who can Gift Aid?
- You must be a current UK taxpayer, but this is not limited to tax on earnings.
- You also qualify if you pay tax on a pension, savings, property sales or rental income. Council Tax and VAT will not qualify as income tax.
- You only need to have paid as much in tax as Adventure Therapy will reclaim on your donations.
- Make sure you’re happy with our retail Gift Aid terms and conditions.
How do I Gift Aid my donations?
Complete a Gift Aid form when you drop your first items off to our shop or download our Retail Gift Aid Declaration form at home, print it out, fill in your details and bring to the shop when you visit.
When your donations have sold we’ll write to you (usually by email so please ensure we have your email address) to let you know how much they have raised.
